Reasoning

Really quickly, to spend some time on this topic for personal cross referencing, how to reason and respond to people's questions.

In my case, we refer to standard reasoning as responding directly to the negated question. Assume the following example.

I do not like pasta.

Standard Reasoning

In short, standard reasoning answers the negated question directly and at face value. In our above example, if we used Standard Reasoning, the response "no", would indicate:

I do NOT not like pasta.

which would be translated to "I like pasta." Likewise, if the response is "yes", it would indicate:

I DO not like pasta.

which indicates that the pasta is not liked.

Casual Reasoning

Unlike standard reasoning, casual reasoning answers the unnegated question. To our above example, if we used casual reasoning, the response "no", would indicate:

I do NOT like pasta.

which would be translated as-is. Likewise, if the response is "yes", it would be transcribed as:

I DO like pasta.

which affirms that pasta is liked.

Conclusion

in general, †ry not to use negated questions, and if any idiot does, reference this page to ask them what system they use! :)
